This Makeup Kit is a good value at the current cost of $25.98. It makes a fabulous gift, but there are a few things to be aware of before you buy.1. The foundation is very orange (see photo), so it can only be worn by people with warm skin tones. Also, nowhere does it say that the foundation is non-comedogenic; I would be wary of a teen using this product. I’ve included a photo of the ingredient list.2. The concealers are mostly for warm skin tones also, and also do not claim to be non-comedogenic. I’ve attached a photo of the ingredient list of the concealer palette.3. The only blush seems too orange for cool tones and too pink for warm tones (see photo), so I would say it’s best for neutral skin tones.4. The 3 lip “glosses” (actually mattes) are drying to the lips, but they have great staying power. The photo with the tubes included was taken immediately after application. The next photo was taken about 3 hours later. The third photo was taken over 24 hours later. Two are cool colors and 1 is a warm color.5. The lip colors in the palette are quite pretty and stay on a decent amount of time. There is one neutral color, black (which is very nice), and 3 cool colors. I thought there were 4 cool colors (see photos), but one turned out to be warm. All the rest of the colors are warm.6. The eyeshadows are mostly warm colors.Since my skin tone is cool, this kit didn’t meet my expectations. Good for a first makeup set or play makeup
I wouldn’t recommend this set to an adult as their everyday makeup. However, I think it would make a great gift to a pre teen or young teen. This kit comes with everything a beginner makeup user would need. I think this kit would be good for play, and for experimentation.There is foundation (a light warm tone), 2 shades of concealer, a black Eyeliner which has a stamp and a pen side, mascara, an eye and face palette, concealer palette, a light brown eyebrow pencil, lip palette, 3 matte liquid lipsticks, 2 sponges, and some brushes. With everything that comes with it, this kit is a good value.The foundation, concealers, and concealer palette were all too dark for me (fair, cool toned). I would say they would be best for a light/light medium warmed toned person. The foundation has a pump under the ball. My foundation had leaked out by the base of the top, it looks like it wasn’t sitting fully flush. The concealer palette in addition to being too dark for me, also had weird choices for the color correcting shades.The 3 lip glosses are actually matte liquid lips. While it dried down fully it left my lips sticky and tacky. The liquid lipstick had a vaguely sweet smell, and no discernible bad taste. The lipstick palette is mostly pinks and reds. I think it would be fun to mix and make your own custom shade.The makeup brushes were on the short side. The handles were a cheap hard plastic, but the bristles are soft and not too stiff or jagged.The all in one eye and face palette was my favorite product in this set. The eye shadow is appropriate for daily wear. It was easy to pull colors and looks together. The blush was pigmented, and the highlighter was pretty.I’m giving this 4 star rating as a play set for young girls.
