The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore is the second book in the Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore and it’s another really cute, comforting small town romance read. The banter is quote-worthy, the romance is heart-warming and character growth and insight is significant.This story follows Hazel, the steady, quiet, responsible bookstore worker who is on the verge of turning thirty and regrets her “safe” existence. She wants to break the mold that she’s created for herself, live without regrets, try new things and enjoy a summer of fun. When she begins to find clues in random books in the romance section that have highlighted quotations, she considers it her call to action and decides to follow them like a treasure hunt. Noah is the town playboy who runs fishing tours and is happiest when outside. He’s as nice as can be, but feels like he has disappointed his family and is a not worthy of high esteem. He agrees to help Hazel follow the clues and fulfill her summer of fun, but is he in it only for the summer?The plot is light and sweet, the story is entertaining and easy to read, and though there were times when the lack of communication trope was just as frustrating as it always is, it was still an enjoyable summer read. It was a bit repetitive with its constant declarations of personal failure and flaws, and more steamy that I’d prefer, but overall, The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore is a delightful story and even better than the first!

I finished this book last night. Around 8:15 or 8:30. The cover screams fall. But then you dive into the book and see it is set in August. In the summer. And you feel disappointed about that. The cover does not lead you astray. In the last half of the book, it is set in Fall. There is fall in the book. That’s how I felt when I first started reading it. I was a little bit sad. But as I read on, I felt hope about the book being in Fall. I know I am not the only one who felt this about the beginning of the book. Just keep reading, you will get to the fall part.The book was a good one. Another good book by Laurie Gilmore. I can’t wait to read The Christmas Tree Farm soon. I probably will start to read right after Halloween. In November. When it is close to Christmas. Then I will read the 4th one in December. Since it is one of the books that I want to read before this year ends.This book has late summer vibes and Autumn Vibes in it. Hazel and Noah were good for each other. Hazel is the book store manager of The Cinnamon Bun Book Store. Noah is a fishermen. Someone leaves a secret message in one of the books in the book store. She finds it and is confused about it. The message leads her to a friend’s place. That is where she tells Noah about the secret message. She wants his help. The chemistry between the two main characters is the highlight and their connection is good and keeps things moving.The book has all the elements of a good romance. Sparks flying, tension and heartwarming moments. The plot was light and Sweet. I loved it. I loved the mystery element in it. The Pumpkin Spice Cafe has some mystery in it. I wonder if the rest of the books have the mystery element in them. There are a good mystery and not a bad one. I can handle these kinds of mystery books. The cozy romance mystery books. Instead of a Thriller. I will read the rest of the books in this series. It is one of my favorite series now

The cozy bookstore setting was delightful, and the mystery woven into the Cinnamon Bun Bookstore, along with the hidden meanings in the romance novels, gave the plot an extra layer of intrigue.Both Hazel and Noah struggle with self-doubt, but their relationship helps them grow. Hazel learns that she is fun, sexy, and worthy, while Noah realizes that his family back home is proud of him, despite his insecurities. Watching them work through these challenges together was both sweet and satisfying.If I had one wish, it would be for a little more depth to the story—but overall, this was a charming, feel-good read that left me smiling.
